THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE – 49 Same Sex “Marriage”
“24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet” (Romans 1:24-27, KJV).
Loved ones, in our Spiritual Battle we must learn that there are at least four fundamental reasons why "same-sex marriage" is not marriage at all. These are:
1. Definitional – Dictionaries in languages all over the world define marriage as between a man and a woman. One current dictionary definition of marriage: “The formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.”
2. Historical – From the earliest recorded history, marriage has always been considered (until recent years only), a union of a man with a woman, bound by some sort of legal, contractual or covenantal agreement.
Hear what Genesis 2:24 says about the dawn of marriage: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
Marriage was considered a covenantal relationship, entered into with God. The wise obedient man will be delivered from "16 …the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 17 which forsaketh the guide of her youth” (Proverbs 2:16-17).
“…Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant” (Malachi 2:14).
“Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband” (Ephesians 5:33).
Down through the centuries marriage has been considered a very special and holy union, always between man and woman, not between man and man, or woman and woman.
3. Anatomical – Humans, as the animal kingdom in general, are designed to reproduce through copulation. This is the purpose for the sex organs, the male penetrating the female and depositing sperm in her uterus, where it joins an ovum, thus beginning the process of reproduction. That this act is also pleasurable is a bonus.
In a homosexual (“gay”) relationship, the sex act is a perversion of the natural process. The anus is an organ of discharge, not a receptacle. Using it for this purpose can do irreparable physical damage. Moreover, such an act cannot be construed as God-designed and cannot result in conception. This is also true for lesbians who are determined to be "legally married." If marriage was designed to produce children and nurture them, then gay marriage fails on the first of these two requirements, if not on both.
4. Biblical – Throughout the Bible homosexual relationships have been classified as immoral and sinful. Along with our above text, here are a few more specific passages on this matter:
“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them” (Leviticus 20:13). Is this not clear?
"Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers (sexually immoral), and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie” (Revelation 22:15).
Conclusion
Based on these four reasons, by no means can a sexual union between those of the same gender be considered marriage. Legally in the USA and some other countries, they may perhaps receive a document stating that they are partners, but never a married couple. To make them legally married is to completely change the definition of marriage, the historical nature of marriage, and the biblical concept of what constitutes a marriage.
Both those who are joined together in a non-marriage relationship and those who legalize such a relationship in an attempt to make it a marriage fly in the face of history, God's Word, and His judgment. As His Word states it, their blood will be on their own heads. Written by Glover Shipp and expanded by Samuel.
Through the free gift of God’s grace by Jesus’ blood (Ephesians 2:8; Revelation 1:5) and your obedient faith (Romans 1:5; 10:17; 16:26), salvation is offered.
